About the NIH Alumni Network
The new NIH Alumni Network fosters connections among former NIH staff and provides information, opportunities, and resources. The mission of the Network is to strengthen the broader NIH community in support of NIH’s mission and provide lifelong opportunities for networking, professional development, and support. Launched in May 2026, the NIH Alumni Network is run by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH). Additionally, FNIH is working with the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES), the Office of NIH History & Stetten Museum (ONHM), and the NIH Office of Communications and Public Liaison (OCPL) to provide resources to alumni.

- Searchable member directory for personal connections and professional collaborations
- Virtual presentations on a variety of topics, including emerging science and professional development

Membership in the NIH Alumni Network is open to former staff of the agency, including federal employees, fellows, trainees, and on-site contractors. The FNIH does not charge Network membership dues, however, it encourages contributions to the FNIH. Your gift will help to support the Network and other FNIH activities and programs. Your support fuels the flexibility to invest where it’s needed most: creating opportunities for the next generation of scientists, advancing high-impact research partnerships, and strengthening the alumni community. The FNIH, as a partner to the NIH, has advanced biomedical research and training that has improved the development of treatments and cures.
